At first this does not make a lot of sense, but think about it. Say you make an investment and it is a really good idea. You make a lot of money and of course the next thing you do is repeat the idea. Let’s say repeat it several times and all the sudden the market turns and what was a good idea is now a cash drain. And because it was a good ideas at one time you own a lot of them. Now you have a big problem on your hands.
The moral of the story is go slow and make sure you debt levels are low enough for really bad times.
