Off to Mali

Today I head to Bamako, Mali, West Africa. I am going to teach a class on how to market your business to the Malians. I will have internet access at the hotel so check back and I will give updates on the activity.

Mali is considered the second poorest county in the world based on an index by the World Health Organization.

    Dave,

I bumped into your blog because of the word “Mali” and a Google Alert I have set to point me to websites that mention the country. I am on the board of directors for The Mali Rising Foundation — a nonprofit that focuses on building middle schools in rural Mali. (You can look us up at http://www.malirisingfoundation.org) I am planning my first trip to Mali and will have an opportunity to do some teaching while I’m there. I have a PhD in economics, I work as a consultant (litigation – expert witness), and I teach economics part-time at Brigham Young University.

I’m very interested in the experience you have in Mali and in the response to the class you will teach. Would you be willing to shoot me an email when you get back and tell me how things went?

Thanks and good luck in Bamako!

  2. Steve I sure will.
Every county I go to is so much different from the other countries I have been

Mali ranks 114th out of 179 on the economic freedom index. You may be teaching to some very receptive listeners:
